Robert L. Fontane, MD
Dr. Fontane was born in Alexandria and grew up in Bunkie, LA. He went to high school at Holy Savior Menard High School and then an undergraduate at Auburn, Alabama, where he graduated Cum Laude in Physiology. From there, he moved to Shreveport, LA, and went to LSU School of Medicine. He graduated in 2004 and became an Alpha Omega Honor Society member, in the top 10 percent of his class. He married his wife, Noel, and had two girls, Izzy and Aubrey, while in Shreveport.
He completed his residency in Urology at LSU Shreveport and was Chief Resident in his final year. From there, he and Noel decided to move back home to Alexandria, where he has practiced since 2009, when he joined Cenla Urology. He practices general Urology with a particular interest in Urologic cancer of the kidney, bladder, prostate, kidney stones, and pediatric urology. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and traveling.
